On 23 April 2026, things were really buzzing here: four schoolgirls took advantage of Future Day to take a look behind the scenes at our business – and got to see more than many adults ever do.
Enna (Year 9), Merle (Year 5), Nele (Year 5) and Lotta (Year 9) were welcomed at the entrance as early as 8:00 am. A quick breather, safety vests on, shoe covers over – and off they went. Together with Lars Brzezniak, they explored the different areas of the company. Machines, processes, people working intently – all up close and personal.
After the tour, a presentation about the company awaited them in the meeting room. Here, the girls were able to ask all the questions that had been on their minds during the tour: How much does a machine like that cost, and how much profit does it generate? The answers came straight from the source.
Things got really exciting at 9:00 am: in the workshop, the four of them were allowed to make their own metal cube. Under the guidance of Marc Ehlerding, they filed, drilled, measured, filed again and even welded. Step by step, a simple blank was transformed into a genuine, neatly crafted cube – a small piece of craftsmanship that they could proudly take home with them at the end.
To round things off, the group met once more in the meeting room. During a brief feedback session, the pupils shared what they’d enjoyed most – and their enthusiasm was palpable. They then headed into the afternoon with a small goody bag and plenty of new impressions.
Future Day 2026 has shown that technology can inspire – especially when you get to try it out for yourself.
