Raw materials – A clean finish
APPLICATION
When processing raw materials often strongly contaminated raw material arises. To clean strongly contaminated gravel or sand effectively, SMT STICHWEH offers log washers – depending on the task – as one shaft or twin-shaft log washer.
FUNCTION
The contaminated material is fed into the log washer at the lower end of the tub and transported by the counter-rotating paddle-shafts to the upper end of the tub run-out. As a result of friction the contaminations are pulverized and dissolved. Waste water and light materials flow off at the lower part of the tub. With the help of the upward-current device this effect can even be intensified, so that also wood and coal can partly be eliminated.

Log washer type DSW 8000
Tub 8,000 mm long, 2,400 mm wide, throughput 200 – 250 t/h. In this application example the crude gravel is very different, partly clean, partly with clay embeddings. When processing clean material the log washer is out of operation. Via the reversible belt below the silo the gravel can be passed to the left on the belt and to the right in the log washer.

The gravel won by means of a suction dredger is separated with the aid of the screening machine at 0 – 2, 2 – 32 and 32 – x mm.
The fraction 2 – 32 mm is fed into the log washer.
