STICHWEH Drag Scraper Model KS 1000 for the Russian Federation

Gravel pit expansion in Russia

Rugged terrain calls for heavy-duty equipment. To facilitate the expansion of a gravel pit in Russia, STICHWEH – the company based in Lower-Saxony and an expert in preparation systems for the stone and quarry industry – is supplying a true heavyweight, namely, the KS 1000.

This giant will be transported in separate parts via a low loader trailer and then assembled and commissioned on site.

Its dimensions are:

  • bucket capacity 10 m³
  • weight 170 t
  • output for drag scrapers of this model series: approx. 400 t/h

The drag scraper is suitable for the extraction of sand and gravel from a depth of more than 30 metres and is, thus, a genuine high performer.

“Over the last few decades, the demand for ever bigger and more productive drag scrappers has strengthened considerably”, says Rolf Sürig, General Manager at STICHWEH and also an expert for XXL drag scrapers. “Our first heavyweight KS 1000 SH 2 R is currently the heaviest and most productive drag scraper in Denmark. The delivery of the STICHWEH drag scraper to Russia will be of a similar calibre.”

“This is the result of the decades-long systematic further development of STICHWEH drag scraper technology”, explains Wolfgang-Dieter Prall, the STICHWEH expert for the Russian market.

Hundreds of STICHWEH drag scrapers deployed internationally have demonstrated their ability in the extraction of sand, gravel and crushed rock. They are reliable in operation, highly productive, robust and, above all things, extremely precise. This makes them indispensable for wet and dry extraction, for river dredging and for the rescraping of partially exploited flooded gravel pits.

Another clear advantage is the modular system for drag scrapers.

We currently have a flexible modular system for the various ways in which drag scrapers can be deployed in very different local conditions. Using the same basic unit and depending on what is required, the modular system makes it possible, for example, to provide either a discharge for direct truck loading or, if there is a conveyor belt feeding system, to add a pre-bunker with or without a coarse sorting grid and feeder for the conveyor belt system.

For the best possible raw material extraction – think big and make it happen.
