When overhauling the scraper drive SMT STICHWEH searched and found an optimized, energy efficient alternative drive system. The original scraper was equipped with a diesel engine and torque converter. The scraper KS 600 now is directly driven by an electric motor and frequency converter and has a much lower energy demand.
Operators and the environment benefit: because of a lower residual risk of environmental pollutions caused by escaping materials, significantly reduced noise emissions. No more maintenance works at the diesel engine and the torque converter and no more exhaust emissions.
